Entertaiment

Entertaiment is the most broadly conceived form of art, encompassing all forms of expression that contribute to the enjoyment and amusement of others. Its strong association with fun and laughter has led to a popular definition of entertainment as amusement or distraction, but many forms of entertainment serve a more serious purpose, such as satire, religious festival or ceremony, or provide insight or intellectual growth. It is not uncommon for the word to be abbreviated to entmt. on a flier or in industry news publications where space is limited. However, this is not commonly used in general prose.
