Types of Entertaiment
The word entertain is often used with the idea of amusement, but many entertainments have a serious purpose. Some, such as ceremonial or religious festivals, may be intended for spiritual growth. Others, like satire or the story of Scheherazade from the professional storytelling tradition, can inspire artistic retellings, for instance in music, film or games. Such retellings can themselves become entertainment, for example by encouraging people to attend performances.
