Instead, try to describe the news in objective terms. For example, a scientific breakthrough might be described as “a significant advance” or “an important discovery”. It is also important to avoid using emotive language such as “terrible”, “wretched”, “awful” and “horrible”. Instead, use descriptive adjectives that are neutral.
